Together with other partners we have been supporting peace building and governance to strengthen peaceful coexistence and governance values. These include the following interventions:

1. Establishing community structures/strengthen existing to enhance community policing;
2. Conducting advocacy and community awareness on peace and cohesion through peace building forums within community;

Develop community workplans to accelerate community integration;

HDC is actively participating in advocacy on the following cross cutting areas;

1. HIV/AIDs sensitisation – We have worked with Global Fund to support Reducing HIV Infections and HIV related mortalities program.
2. We are also actively providing support targeting populations at risk of HIV infection such a uniformed personal, populations living in high displacement and cross border activities;
3. Business development and training- We have a training centre which is purposely used to provide specifically the youth with business and entrepreneurial skills.
4. We have also been providing capacity building targeting MSMEs, solar energy and other vocational training skills
5. Justice and rule of law – HDC provide community sensitisation and awareness on rule of law and access to justice. We work at community level to promote justice and rule and law instead of the traditional justice systems.

Gender and women empowerment – We pursue gender and women empowerment. Among the key interventions has been advocacy for women in leadership and decision-making institutions including parliament through 30% quota systems.
