Protection
Protection needs in Somalia continues to be overwhelming with increased threats. These include targeted and indiscriminate physical attacks on civilians and on property, widespread sexual and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), child recruitment, family separation, violence against children, arbitrary arrest, forced displacement, land-grabbing, and extortion of assets and supplies from vulnerable groups.
We support child protection and GBV services through the following interventions
- Medical & emergency support for GBV survivors
- Psychosocial support for GBV survivors
- Repatriation of Unaccompanied and Asylum Seeking Children (UASC),
- Livelihood skills for GBV survivors
- Community based mechanisms on child protection;
- Protection monitoring and reporting, service to internally displaced population, refugees and asylum seekers;
- Community awareness and sensitization in protection of women and girls against harmful traditional practices.
