Protection

Protection needs in Somalia continues to be overwhelming with increased threats. These include targeted and indiscriminate physical attacks on civilians and on property, widespread sexual and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), child recruitment, family separation, violence against children, arbitrary arrest, forced displacement, land-grabbing, and extortion of assets and supplies from vulnerable groups.

We support child protection and GBV services through the following interventions

  1. Medical & emergency support for GBV survivors
  2. Psychosocial support for GBV survivors
  3. Repatriation of Unaccompanied and Asylum Seeking Children (UASC),
  4. Livelihood skills for GBV survivors
  5. Community based mechanisms on child protection;
  6. Protection monitoring and reporting, service to internally displaced population, refugees and asylum seekers;
  7. Community awareness and sensitization in protection of women and girls against harmful traditional practices.
